Sometimes we don't go big, we go local... ya know!(Tom Cruise voice)

Sometimes ya just gotta... ya just gotta go antique shopping, ghost hunting, eat.. ya know, the usual!

School was just out and we still had a few days til payday... but we were antsy and just had to start off the summer with an adventure... So ya know...sometimes ya just gotta go.... even if it's small... sometimes ya just gotta!

This girl is always tired!!

So it was my turn to figure out a "small in the area" trip... and you know us... it centered around what we like.... antiques, small hometown shopping, and of course food... Sometimes that isn't good for us, but we bond with food... what can I say.

The girls came to Lindsay and excitement was in the air... WE ARE OUT OF SCHOOL...IT'S SUMMER MAN!!

We took off for downtown Lindsay and hit two local shops that I love. Backroads Boutique ( I love Brandi who owns this store, she has great stuff) and The Silver Orchid ( I also love the Simonton family, this shop is amazing.) Then we headed to Pauls Valley for some antique shopping. We had to see the Main Street Mercantile in Pauls Valley. We have been here before with our trip on the Amtrak train and then scattered on down the road to the White Feather. The Leopard Lasso and other great store there... Then on to Purcell we went where the girls loved the Land Run Eclectic first... this little quaint shop is so full of vintage antiques and items, we spent a time in there for sure. We bought goodies for our girls in the White Feather and then poked our heads into Aunt Addie Mae's and the Grapevine Antique store... Great shopping in small towns!!!

We finally decided on some lunch, so I took the girls to one of my family's favorite...THE RUSTY KNOT in Purcell... Best Chicken Strips and Chicken fried steak around... You gotta try it!!!

Sometimes we forget to take a pic of our food...sorry...we were hungray!!!! (Yes, HUN-GRAY!) It was delish by the way...The Mac and Cheese... YUM YUM!

The Rusty Knot.. It's a small town fav!!!

We then headed to Norman to shop a little more... So again you know, it wasn't quite pay day yet, so we really just planned to spend the day looking around. BUT FIRST, I had to take the girls by an historical place that most Oklahoman's don't even know about... The Griffin Memorial Hospital.. I love the architecture and the history of it all. They are planning on tearing this place down soon, so it's a must see before it is lost to history forever. The first video below shows what the grounds are like, the second video shows what it was like in the past and what the future holds for this sacred place. You need to google the history, you will be amazed...

Right here in Oklahoma I might add...

After our ghost hunting time on the hospital grounds and getting run off by grounds security (I sure gave him mouth full of what I thought of him, as I was driving away of course), we made our way downtown to do some more antique gazing... we went to the Circa Marketplace, Elusive Antiques, and my favorite place....the S & J Marketplace. It was so fun.

We walked and talked til we about dropped.... now evening was setting in on the Old Boomer Town, it was time to eat again!!!

We settled on a favorite of ours... FUzZy's Tacos!!

HEY... we are on Summer Break... It's okay....Plus we all shared it.. and I don't mean the taco... lol

then we decided we needed donuts... don't judge.. we are usually cupcake ladies... but it was close

and MAN it HURTS SO GOOOD!!! (get it??) Lisa's belly began to hurt, and well... that just hurts us all!!

Finally this easy peasy cheap and greasy trip was coming to an end....

We are fatter, but all the while happier because of it...

I sure do love these broke @&$ teachers!!

It's the beginning of Summer break and we hit it with a bang... Can't wait to see what adventures we will cook up next.. stay tuned...

until next time... we out!
