Yep, that was our question and the answer was, It's where Ree is...
Ree Drummond that is!!!!
The Pioneer woman..
Pawhuska seemed to be at the end of the world, well it felt like to me...
my Siatic nerve was acting up...what can I say...
We left early (summer teacher time early-ish) and got on I35, exited on Tonkawa/Ponca City (We are familiar with this area! haha) and went west.... and went.. and went.... and went.... and Finally... we arrived!!!
It's a drive, but it's worth it to see her mercantile and eat they yummy goodies in the bakery... Well, it was worth it to us. We didn't get to see Ree, but we saw someone that we all three kinda have a crush on... Holy Cow... Ladd the Marlboro Man was there...Look out girls!!
When I started this particular blog, I began to worry a little because going through my pics I realized that I didn't have any pics on my phone or computer from this trip... so I began to text the girls and asked.."Send me pics from the Pawhuska trip!" Well...this is what they sent me!!! We love you Ladd!!! #Laddfanclub
HAHA!!!!!! We allowed Ladd to have a Twin sandwich...
we spent the day shopping in the Mercantile and the line was so long for the restaurant that we decided to get it to go...BUT let me tell ya, it was yummy~
We plan on going back to beautiful Pawhuska soon~~
Pawhuska and The Drummond family has an amazing history in itself.
Drummond Ranch, in the Osage County city of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, began through the 1886 settling of Frederick Drummond, and led to the establishment of a trading company before his son, Roy, began ranching in 1913. By the 1980s, the surviving brothers and their descendants owned and managed over 200,000 acres in Oklahoma and parts of Kansas..... then Ladd met Ree and the rest as they say... is HISTORY!!
They have now rearranged things and the lines are not as long we have heard... It is definitely worth it.
Sorry we didn't more pic of what we ate, we were to busy stuffing our faces!!
We loved every minute of it!!
It was a great time and we can't wait to go back again.... See you next time!!
